Michael Jackson's Bad album cover

Michael Jackson, King of Pop. I grew up listening to your music, dancing to them, and attempting Moonwalks which were never successful.
Eccentric, you were, but I have never once despised you for anything you have done. Your music will live on, just like my memories of you.

I cannot wait for this to be out!!!

Doesn't the trailer look so good? I hope the movie is going to be as visually satisfying, if not, it'd be such a disappointment. I did enjoy 300 and Sin City, so fingers crossed.

So I wait, and in a while
I will see my true love smile
She may come, I know not when
When she does, I`ll lose
So baby until then

Lock me away
And don`t allow the day
Here inside, where I hide with my loneliness
I don`t care what they say, I won`t stay
In a world without love

Been back in Singapore for close to a week now.. Haven't been meeting that many of my friends yet! Need to take a breather, get used to the weather here, time-zone etc. Loads of things have changed, I realised, and it's quite amazing how the way so many things can differ in 9 months. Haha. Feel like a fish out of water sometimes...

Went to ECP to do some cycling with some of my hockey babes.. Chatted quite a bit at the food centre somewhere at one end of the park. I think we ended up spending more time eating than blading/cycling! I hardly got any darker from a couple of hours out in the sun. Think I will give up trying to get back my colour; sometimes being fair is not that bad :)

Being back is so indulging.

Surprisingly, I didn't really miss the food here. I think I just missed my mum's cooking like crazy, and maybe some food items, like chicken rice. Ate chicken rice for lunch two days in a row.. so feeling quite satisfied now. Parents brought me to Royal China for dimsum and allowed me to do all the ordering. Yummy.. love the dimsum there, I think it's the best!  Ended off with Mango pudding which I can never find in London, and even if I did manage to find it, it usually tastes very artificial. The waitress recognised me! Hahaa, shows that I haven't really changed that much.. I hope!

Off I go to Malaysia next weekend to watch Sammi Cheng's concert in Genting Highlands.. Seriously can't wait for it. We had to go through members' booking to get the VIP seats and then almost didn't get them 'cos the girl on the phone didn't help us hold onto the seats while we were deciding which row we wanted. My heart actually sank for a moment when she said there were no more VIP and only class 1 seats left and even those weren't very nicely located.. Then she called my parents back again to say she managed to help us get! Yayyy! Can't wait for that! :))))

Hmm, last day of school today! Can't believe how one school year has ended just like that.. but, like what I was talking to Ada about today, it sure feels like I have known and learnt so much more than before. Quick updates- trip to Dublin was really good! Highlight of the trip was the Wild Wicklow tour we took to the countryside.. We managed to catch sight of Enya's castle, drove past Bono's house (white house, gates with lyrics written on them), and took a scenic trek. The tour was filled with nice nibblets of information about Dublin and it was really quite informative.. some pictures:

Some picture taken at the Dublin Bay.. thought the view was pretty nice.

A picture by the lake! After our long scenic walk/run

Dinner at a Jap restaurant on our first day there

Guinness Factory with Alicia

I did what most people (save for some psychopathic murderers) have never done before! Our last dissection of the year involved using a manual saw to saw our cadaver into half.. and then into quarter. Shall spare everyone the gruesome details that I happily provided for my parents.. but yes, it was quite gruesome and tedious I must say! Three girls to one cadaver (our group has diminished in size from ~12 to 3 per dissections each time, leaving me with loads of hands-on work). But it was a great deal of fun.. I did feel a bit pukish when we turned the halved cadaver over and I had to hold its legs with the soles facing the ceiling though.. imagine the sight and you'd understand why.

Ahh, one more week, 10 days to be precise, before my exams start! I can't wait for them to be over though, then I can head back to Singapore and indulge in some pollen-free air and sun, along with my mummy's wonderful cooking and all the yummies in Singapore!

Last but not least, Hockey AGM! It was a blast!! Whee!! Had loads of fun during the dinner and after that - though the night was prematurely ended by some problems cropping up. But it was awesome just hanging out with my team, looking at all the girls all dressed up (imagine pretty dresses in place of sweaty track pants and t-shirts)

Celebrated Alicia's birthday today too.. We had this treasure hunt (finding people instead of things) whereby we hid in different areas of Covent Garden and gave her clues to find us. Made her walk quite a bit and then we had dinner at Belgos followed by dessert at Haagen Dazs. Chatted and gossiped and had so much fun that we stayed there until we got chased out by the staff. I'm still reeling from the fact that one school year has passed and I am growing older and older... uh oh

Here's what I have been up to for the last 2 weeks:

Good news to start the entry! Received an email from my captain yesterday morning to say that WE WON THE ULU LEAGUE!!!!! That's a big achievement; so proud of my team, we kick ass!

Here we are, looking victorious for our last match of the season despite not knowing that we had won the league!
So the match against St Georges was so important

And then.. there was... Raffles Night. Which was an utter waste of money and time. Food was bad, entertainment wasn't that good.. And it was buffet style with so little variety. Salmon was overcooked.. yaadaa yaadaa, I could go on.

Some from our table. King's didn't have enough ppl turning up to make a full table

Then it was catching up with people from my sec 3/4 class! The Funky Fishes!
So nice seeing them again.. And I'm so glad we still clicked after such a long time

Bay (my pretty little brother), Laura, Me, Mak the Rabbit, Cheryl and Anna

Met up with Karent and Shona yesterday. Went to Chinatown for dinner then to Trafalgar Square to look-see then to some place for sundaes!! After that, we headed to Covent Garden, sat down and talked and talked.. till the security guard came by to chase us away because he was going to lock up the area. So nice catching up with the two of them again.. it was very comfortable though we had not met up in ages! :)

Karent and I ... the loud mouths in class who always talked before using our brains.
Oh, and the beefs in Contact Rugby too! Yay!

Shona and I at some place between Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square

We had nicer pictures in Karent's camera, maybe will upload them sometime soon! Till then.. awaiting for Jo's arrival and more pics plus food.
And oh crapp.. I ate so many Krispy Kremes yesterday! I love the original one best...

Listening to: Close to you

I feel tired today. Mainly because I didn't take my usual afternoon nap because I figured I shouldn't be addicted to naps. And not so mainly, because I have been generally feeling tired all the time. I think I'm trying to fit too many things in my life; am so bad at managing time! Like right now, I'm sitting at my desk, staring at my notes and feeling this huge inertia thing that doesn't make me want to look at them.

And I'm just thinking...
I can't wait for Easter to come, although us poor medics have two more weeks to go. Poor poor us- paying such an atrocious sum of money to study a course that piles work on you like nobody's business. Dublin and maybe Alton Towers (I hope) may be the greatest way to take a break from this never-ending work! I can't say I'm not enjoying what I'm doing though.. It's like this contradicting feeling.

The weather is eccentric! It can get cold and hot and cold and hot again in the span of one morning! Bru came back home from the St Patrick's celebrations feeling a little under the weather (pardon the horrid pun) because of the winds and everything else. Luckily I was snuggled at home watching my House, Grey's and Ugly Betty. Oh, and I watched Pan's Labyrinth last night and got this sunken feeling at the end of it. Can't figure out whether it was a happy ending or not. And the mirroring of fantasy against reality was too potent.

Jo brud and Karent coming down this week along with my brother's friend. Haha, my place is going to be packed!

I was just thinking back... on my rj days in hockey (thanks to yumun who made me rethink about finals which led on to me thinking that our team was the best thing that happened to me in my rj years). And then naturally, my thoughts went on to Sir. And how he managed to train all us greenie noobies into almost-pro standards, how he got us in ways we could never explain. I never understood some things that he did or say, and I must admit at times, I didn't quite agree with him, but I somehow knew that what he did was always done with a purpose in mind. I think sir let me explore my skills quite a bit- putting me as a roaming sweeper so I could attack and defend at the same time.. I have to say that I get tempted to do that sometimes here (me being put as a mid-fielder)- run everywhere but of cos, they tend to have pretty clear boundaries here- you stick to your zone and I tend to mine. Haha. K, enough about hockey...

I don't know how things got to be like that. But somehow similar things seem to happen at the same time. And it can get so overwhelming sometimes.

This week is a really crazy week.. partly, no, largely due to the GP presentation on Thursday. Nyla's gone back home for the weekend, so we couldn't discuss the project. Now I'm starting to panic a little.. hope everything turns out alright. Shucks. It's important.

Just watched mirror mask on my lappy with the sound connected to the audio system we have at home!

I thought it was really good! Loved the way they complemented the music with the scenes, the superb layering effect and the innovative ideas that kept popping out. Especially this makeover scene whereby the robots suddenly popped out and started singing to "Close to you" and began dressing her up by touching her face.. that was so great! Bru agrees with me on that.

Have been watching so many movies lately, besides the usual dose of House and Grey's Anatomy. One of them is BORAT!

BORAT was hilarous.. I laughed quite a bit.. and was pretty shocked by certain things that he did, or other unknowing characters in his movie said/did too. But most of them rang true though..

"That's close to the bone..."
"What close to the bone.. More like sucking on the marrow"

The above two lines weren't from Borat though, didn't manage to get any witty lines from there.

I just had to catch The Prestige too...

Yes, I was watching closely.. So close that I guessed the ending. Haha, so it wasn't much of a surprise in the end. But still, I thought it was pretty good. Nicer than the other lousy ones I have been watching so far. (Exceptions to MirrorMask and Borat)

Okay, enough said about movies.. Am going for coffee with my team mate, Kristien tomorrow. She wants to pass me my present and treat me to coffee.. haha, so we finally managed to find time out of our crazy schedules to meet, sit down and talk. Guess what I want to do now.. I want to go to TPT to eat its beef noodles and pork chops rice again! Hehe. And there's one more place I want to go.. non-food related(finally). Would reallyyyyy love to go there. I think my brother is sick of hearing me say I want to go there already.

Ahh, so late. Going to head for bed. Histology (groans. 2 hours of looking into a microscope of stained cells) tmr. Bleah. Ciao!

Very happy. Birthday was well-celebrated. Had loads of fun, and loads of food. Yums -rubs fat tummy and grins gleefully-

The sneaky, wonderful gang who celebrated the arrival of my birthday with me!

Me looking stunned after sneaking out of Guy's Bar and coming back home
to the surprise

Cheryl's fairy cakes! Yum

The kueh lapis that they baked for me.. From scratch! Wah

Had dinner at this italian restaurant too, and then cocktails at Pingpong! Celebrated and ate all the way from wednesday to thursday. I think we were on the cab when 12 midnight arrived.
Really had loads of fun on this date, especially. I love chilling out (rmb our crazy supper date with tapowed food from cottage chicken and malibu coke?! Haha)
Anyway, I enjoyed myself alot. And I'd bet my GP partner, Nyla would swear that I was on a high during the GP placement, prob due to pure ecstasy from having such a wonderful time. =)

Ymw and Christina came down to london for the weekend too. And we spent time watching the lunar eclipse, ate dinner at Four Seasons and chilled out at my place (cheryl and ymw)

Never cried so much watching a tv episode before. But this one was simply amazing and blew me away.

Managed to catch The Woman In Black on thursday! Was quite good I thought, very different 'cos it was a two-man cast with minimal props on the front part of the stage. Kind of like provoking your imagination to recreate the scene with the help of their words and actions. Went to the Wine Wharf near my place for wine then headed to Cottage Chicken (wait, is it Chicken Cottage?) for supper on a bench. Had a great time!

I'm living off snacks, emails and my scenario 3 notes.

Mood: jubilant
Listening to: Jimmy Gets High
Hello!
My half term break is almost over- pretty much over already actually. But naw it's okay; had a pretty eventful break.
Friday-Sunday: CAMBRIDGE!

Can't remember which college this was. We visited so many that it all became a blur after a while.
Nice feel for every college though :)
Cheryl, Laura and I! Oh wait, I remember, this should be Pembroke where Jas studies.
Waiting for nice british brunch. Yum!

Near Queen's College. The punting boat tour area. Rainy weather on Saturday. Yikes. Didn't dampen our spirits though :)
Tourguides for the day: Ymw and Jas Ho (Sara was busy with classes)

At Ymw's dorm. Trying to go for a self-take picture. A nice short break after walking around :)

Dear Jas ho and I

One of the many bridges at Cambridge. I had to take this shot because the ducks were so cute!
Scenic la. Can't see that many ducks here if you discount those hanging on hooks in the shopfronts
of Chinatown. Oh, different colour also, albeit less yummy looking.

FLASHERS!!
Ymw's classic look! Haha, I love it, man! Ahh, but running in the rain with heels and wearing a dress is so not funny.
After formal dinner (the pseudochinese one) and just before we got wasted on a sugar overdose and sparkling flavoured water which
tasted remotely like those we used to have in primary school.

On our punting boat tour. Tide was too high to self-punt. Scenery was nice as usual, though it got a little cold on the way back. Hmmm. Sunday Roast for lunch after this. I was too lazy to take out my camera to take pictures of us pigging out (mainly cos I was too occupied with eating the food than admiring it)

Onwards to our awesome day trip to Brighton on Tuesday!!!

Woke up in the morning for a nice and hot Macs breakfast. Pancakes for me!!
I love it that my school has a MacDonalds. Yum
Then we headed to Victoria to take the coach to Brighton. I was armed with a nice hot cup of coffee on the tube- bad idea cos caffeine induces pee (in layman's terms).
Bus ride wasn't too good because I felt like puking halfway; blamed it on myself turning around half the time to talk to the rest and talking non-stop.
Reached Brighton!

Taken from Brighton Pier. Haven't smelt salty air in a long long time.

At the Pavilion. Nope, we didn't go in because we had to pay an entry fee. Wasn't that interested anyway!
Cheryl, Ada, Me, Shuzhen and Alicia.
Photo taken by Selina (oops)

We spent a long time here, mainly because Alicia and I were intrigued by
the many displays that they had. Including an ice sculpture that I touched because
I simply didn't believe that it was made of ice! But I bet everyone had the same disbelief
because the sculpture had finger marks over it! Haha

Photo's pretty dark. But yeah, in front of the clocktower.. on our shopping spree. Okay, not exactly a spree, but still
good enough. Bought a pair of shoes, a top and earrings! Haha, and I thought we were supposed to touring the local
attractions. But good enough!!!

And this concludes the recounting of my trips so far. Thinking of heading down to Canterbury, Cornwall and Bath soon. Clear the Bs and the Cs before moving on to others. Ha. I like daytrips

Went with my brother for a haircut on Thursday and bumped into Shuzhen and Alicia! Haha, they couldn't tell that both of us cut hair though..
But in the end concluded that mine did look more in shape and thinner. Aye.  :)

Guess who was RAGGING today at London Bridge?!

Out in full force- decked in scrubs and buckets. It was freezing cold!

After 2 hours or so in the cold. Retreat under the bridge to warm up and compare

Was quite an experience- got me all knackered and ready to reward myself. Collected quite a bit of money :)

Met up with Mel and her boyfriend today for dinner. Ate at C&R- they had really yummy Malaysian food! Ahh, I so miss eating the roti prata at United Gardens, the Cha Chan Teng at the old Yaohan, the wonderful nasilemak at the market place, the rendang chicken rice at the hawker centre and the prawn noodles at the nearby shopping centre! Hmm, I can practically smell the prawn noodles now (thanks to Cheryl who had that just now and let me kope a spoonful of soup to remind me of what I'm missing out!) Bleah

And I volunteered to help play for the fourths tomorrow at their push back match- not too sure which team we are playing against though. I'm trying desperately to dry my jersey now, just handwashed it and am going to let it drip dry then use last-min resources like ironing/blow-drying etcetc.

RAG! My nice nice nice hockey senior helped to steal some scrubs for me! 'Cos the pathetic laundry rooms were locked up and closely monitored by CCTVs, so my senior who's on clinics helped to kope a set. Haha, now I can RAG happily in my scrubs and go collect some money in the buckets :)

Sushi on friday at my place was really good! Ate till I felt so full and happy... food makes me so so so happy. Yum to anything nicely edible. I had the leftover sushi for lunch today too. Hahaha, and the redbean mochi is quite nice. Watched Amelie and I thought that the movie was quite cute and funny. I was a little tired halfway though, thanks to my full round stomach.

It's crazy busy week next week and I'm looking forward to it. Training, RAG, match, socials, GP attachment, healthcheckup, Cambridge

I have got a little surprise up my sleeve
